Michael Cajayon
INSTRUCTOR
From a young age Michael has been immersed in the fire service. Early on he found particular interest in technical rescue, and after taking several Virginia technical rescue courses, Michael realized his biggest passion is rope rescue. A member of the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department, Michael has taken advantage of many opportunities to further his rescue knowledge and leadership, including leading the department’s Special Operations Division. After making the fire service his career in Fairfax County, he became a paramedic and went on to join the Technical Rescue Operations Team and Virginia Task Force 1/USA-1. Michael currently teaches for the Virginia Department of Fire Programs, Prince William County FRD, and Fairfax County FRD.
Aside from teaching, Michael is always building on his own education and skills by attending courses, workshops, and seminars across the country including obtaining his SPRAT Level 2 certification. When Michael isn’t involved in rope or the fire house, he enjoys spending time with his supportive wife and daughter at home.
