Doug Fuller

INSTRUCTOR

Doug has been involved in the fire service, both career and volunteer, for more than 30 years and is a fourth-generation firefighter. He has also spent a good portion of his career as a fire service instructor with 20 years as an instructor for the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services and currently as an adjunct instructor for the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy working in their Academy on the Road programs.

His interest in technical rescue started in earnest after his involvement in the recovery efforts following the Worcester Cold Storage Warehouse fire. He started taking classes throughout the country with the top programs, focused primarily on rope and structural collapse. While in Massachusetts, Doug spent 6 years with the Massachusetts Task Force 1 USAR team as a heavy equipment rescue specialist. He was also involved in dive rescue services for several years early in his career.

Doug’s certification portfolio includes Pro Board Technician-level certifications in all the specialized rescue disciplines, and he continues to spend his time taking training across the country. In his current position as a flight paramedic in Pennsylvania, he works mentoring new employees in the program.

In his off time, he enjoys cycling and spending time with his family. He also spends time on the Lehigh River as a whitewater rafting guide.
